CA Strengthens Cloud Capabilities with Oblicore Acquisition

Enterprise software provider CA has acquired privately-held Service Level Management (SLM) software provider Oblicore to strengthen its services for enterprises and cloud environments. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
The company said Oblicore solutions extend its capabilities in cloud vendor management and assurance of cloud service quality, and supports and strengthens its ability to set, measure and optimize service levels to meet business expectations.
As a CA partner, Oblicore has proven integrations with CA solutions including Spectrum Infrastructure Manager, Service Desk Manager, Wily Introscope, eHealth and Clarity PPM.
Last year, CA acquired network performance management and service delivery applications provider NetQoS for $200m, and data center automation and policy-based optimization expertise and assets from cloud computing software provider Cassatt to extend its capabilities in the management of networks, systems, application performance and cloud computing.
Ajei Gopal, executive vice president of Products and Technology at CA, said: "Oblicore's business-centric approach gives enterprises and service providers better understanding and control over the quality and value of their IT service portfolio. With Oblicore and other recent acquisitions, CA is moving ahead to help customers optimize IT for better business results and capitalize on cloud computing opportunity."
